Painters in Northville, Michigan

Northville is a historic village core of painted Victorians with newer subdivisions on the townships around it, and the two need almost nothing in common from us.

Painting Northville houses, specifically

The houses in and around the downtown historic district are 1870s to 1910s frame: narrow siding, deep trim, brackets, spindlework, and porches with a great deal of coated detail per square foot. These are quoted by the element rather than by the square foot, and the preparation — scraping to a sound edge, feathering, spot-priming bare wood — is most of the labour. Where a house pre-dates the 1978 lead-paint rule we work to lead-safe practice for the surface concerned.

Colour on those houses is not a free choice. Properties inside the historic district can be subject to review, and we would rather raise that at the walkthrough than after the first coat.

The subdivisions out toward Six Mile and Beck are a different job entirely: 1990s and 2000s builder finish now due its second repaint, prep-led despite the houses being young, with the garage door and the south elevation failing first.

What customers say

Bello Painting did a fantastic job on our home’s exterior. Marcus and his crew were friendly, showed up when they said they would, and worked hard to get everything done on time. They paid attention to the details, and the house looks fresh and brand new.
