Detroit and the older parts of Dearborn were built between roughly 1900 and 1940. That means real plaster, wide painted trim, deep window casings, and exterior wood that has been coated for a century. On houses like these the estimate is mostly preparation: scraping, feathering, spot-priming bare wood, and cutting out failed glazing and caulk.
