Horizontal exterior surfaces take more weather than anything else on a property. They need stripping and sealing, not just recoating.
How the work runs
Step 01
Strip and clean
Failing stain or paint stripped, the surface cleaned and brightened, and any embedded mildew treated rather than sealed in.
Step 02
Repair the structure
Loose boards refastened, popped fasteners set, and soft or split boards flagged for replacement before coating.
Step 03
Sand
Sanded to open the grain so the finish penetrates rather than sitting on top and peeling in a season.
Step 04
Seal
Coated in the product suited to the exposure, with more coats on the sun-facing runs, which fail first.
Decks need a dry window either side of the work. We will tell you if the forecast means waiting.
